Cebu, Philippines, August 4, 2024 – From August 1 to August 4, Fili Café at Fili Hotel NUSTAR Cebu played host to “Quintessentially Thai,” a vibrant and flavorful celebration that brought the essence of Thailand’s culinary traditions to Cebu. The four-day event, which kicked off on August 1, was a memorable experience for all who attended, offering a deep dive into the rich and diverse flavors of Thai cuisine.
The festivities began with an enchanting Loy Krathong ceremony on August 1, marking the official launch of the event. We were honored to have His Excellency Tull Traisorat, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Philippines, grace the occasion, adding a touch of diplomacy to our celebration. This event was particularly special as it coincided with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Thailand, making it a meaningful milestone for both nations.
Reliving the Culinary Experience
Throughout the event, guests were treated to a curated selection of authentic Thai dishes, each one crafted with precision and passion by Chef Suthin Songmuang of Benjarong, Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu. From the fiery heat of Thai curries to the refreshing zest of traditional salads, every dish was a testament to Thailand’s rich culinary heritage.
In addition to the delightful food, diners who spent PHP 5,000 or more had the chance to participate in a thrilling raffle. The grand prizes included a roundtrip ticket from Cebu to Bangkok via Cebu Pacific, a luxurious two-night stay at Dusit Thani Hua Hin, an overnight stay at Dusit Thani Pattaya, and a two-night stay at Dusit Thani Mactan. These prizes added an extra layer of excitement to the event, making it even more memorable for our guests.
